I have a question about my processor/ motherboard and how to get some extra performance.

my pc build up:

i5 3570k
scythe rev b mugen 2
gigabyte ga z77m d3h
g skill 2x 4 gb
asus gtx 570

Well i read quit a lot about overclocking, usually ages ago of information..

People say change the multiplier, well i cannot change something about it.
When i use easy tune 6 autotune my pc will go till 4,6 ghz overclock and reboot, i get de dual boot option to enter bios en change bios settings.
What do i have to change in order to set my overclocking alright?

Try looking here, its probably the only real guide for ivy bridge right now and he uses a gigabyte motherboard so should jelp you out

Anyway, you should know the IB processors heat up a lot, so they can't get past a certain point, OCing-wise. For most people, that point lies between 4.6 and 4.7GHz, on air cooling. The only way to get a liiitle more Megahertz out of your CPU is to go for watercooling. I can personally recommend you the H100, it's a great (albeit a little bit loud) closed-loop setup.

A 4.7GHz is the equivalent of a 5.0GHz in Sandy Bridge. Well, not exactly maybe, but it's fairly comparable. My point being: don't be sad you haven't reached 5.0GHz on IB, a 4.7GHz is just as commendable. smile.gif

my goal is just beneath the 4.5 so I say 4 GHz is ok for me my temp CPU is max 40 degrees on normal use max 50 till 60 full load max settings bf3 and 69% processor load

So there is no way to ajust the bios to unlock settings like cpu ratio and multiplier?

I want a little bit overclock because:

My windows 7 score is:

processor: 7,6
graphic card: 7,9
3d graphic: 7,9
hard disk: 7,8

So i guess the bottleneck is my processor, can i bring up the level score of windows 7 for processor with a overclock air cooled 4 ghz?

use manual cpu voltage setting. use fixed voltage. turn off all c states and speed step for best results. i have mine running at 4.4ghz at 1.208vwith ultra LLC so it goes up to 1.216v to compensate for voltage droop. runs great with load temps around 56C on noctua nhd14.

What sort of board do i have build in?
Cos mine gigabyte ga z77m d3h with i5 3570k doesent set the overclock on auto tune Windows set after reboot everything on default.

ok this is pissing me off.. i got my 3570k @ stock speeds @ 1.12v i tested it with prime for 12hrs and i had no errors or WLAN...i gamed all day and not a problem thumb.gif but when i started watching a youtube video it freezes mad.gif i was reading that it could be linked to windows frame work 4.0 am i missing something here? can my chip not take these low voltages?
