Thread Starter
Got A Pentium d 950 on an abit aw8-max mobo i also water cool ,i have it clocked at 4.2 ghz with ace temps 25c to 26c idle and 39c to 40c fully loaded and semi stable just software glitches now and again ,now my question is how do i get it stable properly and how can i raise it? i have just got my last 2 copper ram heat spreaders today so all my ram has heat spreaders on them now 4x512=2gb total (i know i should buy 2x1 gig sticks) my vcore is set at 1.3625 my ddrv is 2.00 and my mch 1.5v is at 1.65.now wot can i raise to get a higher oc or to make the oc i have now stable?my temps are always good cause i water cool so temps should'nt be a prob (fingers crossed) and another thing that concerned me is on the cpu box it says do not raise above 1.30 vnow i have for months and its been alright ,so my last question is what can i raise and what to without KILLING anything
any suggestions would be great cheers

What it says on the box is for stock cooling. Your temps is definely good enough, so my only suggestion is to put your RAM on a divider.
If you don't know what that is please write that you don't, and I'll respond again

Cheers.

Another key thing is that maybe you hit the pinacle of the oc on your chip. Not all chips oc the same. If you try what the others have told you with no avail, try backing down your clocks and/or vcore. Also, what water cooling kit are you using?

without running prime you can't really tell if the glitches are software or hardware based. If your hardware is so unstable as to cause crashes prime should fail within minutes. The instability could always turn out to be spyware or some such thing. I'm not saying it is, just that you should rule that out before hitting performance through a divider or running more voltage through your parts

3-3-3-4? That is causing it. You have to increase them ASAP.

Spyware and viruses can also cause enough crap to screw everything up. If you haven't scanned for them in a long time, by Joe then do it now! If nothing comes up, get prime, run it, and report back. Try other CPU intensive apps like CPU Burn-in.
Edit: I didn't notice your timings for your RAM, and gonX is right. When you oc, you oc the RAM at the same time. So in every oc, the timings also increase. If you have them too low, your machine will crash and run unstable due to the timings being too low in ratio to the CPU speeds. What type of RAM are you running? If it's something like DDR2-667 you should definetly beef them up a bit. They look too low for 667on a oc to 4Ghz. Anyways you'll know when you hit the right timings when your maching works perfectly again.

when you OC the frequency of the ram increases with your FSB - not the timings
