^ Mhm.  Perhaps you might be interested in knowing that LGA1155 = end of the road.  There really isn't much of an upgrade path seeing as Ivy Bridge CPUs bring little improvement.  The next Intel platform will use a totally different socket named LGA1150.  AM3+ will last to Vishera (desktop version of Piledriver CPU cores that we'll soon see in Trinity APUs; they will have higher IPC than Phenom II cores combined with higher clockspeed ability, and higher performance-for-watt at less cost) and possibly beyond.

The more the better if he's using the computer for everything, too.  Getting the more powerful GPU right away will significantly increase performance in more ways than CPU in most applications, which have now moved to GPU accelerated computing or are in the process of doing so.  Whereas you'd wish to be upgrading considerably frequently with less GPU now, the 7850 will last you for several years.  As CPU requirements in programs go down (while GPU requirements go up), so will the 1045T.

Ehh you do have a point. Thing is he will upgrade soon no matter what. Maybe get a 670 later when the Prices drop and after he gets the money. But I see exactly to what your talking about.
