All competitors (of the same league) are either as cheap or more expensive; Apple iPad is
very competitively priced.
Macbook Air:
Some competitors are more expensive, some are cheaper; but overall, Apple definitely remains competitive. You also have to take into account that Mac OS X comes with more pre-included usable software than Windows. Apple also has educational pricing, and in the summer the "Back to School" promotional gifts. These two together make the MBA even more competitive.
Additionally, at its release, the MBA was the cheapest ultraportable.
The iPhone is also comparable to other phones with the same MSRP, albeit with a bit of a disadvantage in screen size.
