American mcgee's alice the madness returns is so visually unique it was a great change of pace . My favorite single player game of the last few years.
Most of the others I like have been mentioned already.
Have you played either Alice game?

Call of duty 4 - I dont care how much trash you talk about the whole CoD franchise but that game had a really good story that had me hooked, also the fallout 3 story and half life 2 all had me excited to play
