Help me OC my 2600K - Page 11

Okay so let me just be clear on this.

Disable Turbo Mode
Set the CPU Ratio manually instead of the Turbo Ratio
Keep Speed Step and C1E disabled
Enable C3 and C6

Is this correct or am I still missing something?

Also, will my overclock still be stable at the same vcore and PLL if I do this? I tested in prime with C3, C6, and C1E all disabled. Speed step was on when I tested though.

Yup looks good. Should be fine, none of those settings affect an overclock stability under load.

Well, when I disable Turbo Boost and set CPU Ratio to 48, it automatically enables Turbo Boost again but greys it out so I can't change it in the BIOS. I still get massive bouncing around for my speed when I do this and enable C3 and C6, is there any other possibility of why this is happening? I'm so frustrated right now, theres no reason for this to be happening.

I set C3/C6 to Auto and it appears to stop the fluctuation between the frequency, but is this the same as enabling them? It's seriously ONLY happening with C3/C6 Enabled for god knows what reason. I've tried like everything and this is really dissapointing me now.

You should be fine either enabling them or setting them to auto if using manual voltage. thumb.gif So if auto works for you, then so be it.

its because it was the way the SB was designed to do. work at a lower frequency when not under load to save power/life.
