I didnt see it posted earlier, but for people with the 670 FTW, a backplate has been released http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=M021-00-000015&family=Accessories%20-%20Hardware&sw=4

it's a crappy port! for what the card is and what it should do along with the CPU then it should be able to stay well above 60fps easily if they had optimized it but they didn't since radical entertainment got shut down thanks to activision.

I recently went from a MSI Geforce 560ti Hawk to a EVGA Geforce 670 FTW and I have a few questions I'm hoping some of you can answer (i'm a total pc noob!)
I did a benchmark for Metro 2033 with the following settings:
Options: Resolution: 1920 x 1080; DirectX: DirectX 11; Quality: Very High; Antialiasing: AAA; Texture filtering: AF 16X; Advanced PhysX: Enabled; Tesselation: Enabled; DOF: Enabled
My average fps: 37.48
* Is this normal or is my card underperforming? I've read some reviews where the 670 FTW faired better?
* is my processor good enough or does it bottleneck my videocard?
* Does an overclocked i5 2500K (example @ 4 ghz) give more fps?
This is my setup:
i5 2500K @ 3.3 Ghz
8 GB of 1333mhz DDR Memory
EVGA GTX 670 FTW (recent drivers from Nvidia.com installed)
750 Watt PSU
Windows 7 64 bits
Hopefully you can provide me a definitive answer!
Thanks in advance.
Leroy

I did the same settings for you but my CPU & GPU are over clocked (4.5Ghz 2600k & GPU 1310/3700)

Your FPS are a bit lower but doesn't seem that off, just make sure Adaptive V-sync isn't on but yes Overclocking your CPU & GPU will always help

Argh, Max Payne 3 is killin the top card of my SLI. Yes, I have a hot room too, and I'll be playing MP3 with 3D on, and even with the fan ramping up to 100%, my top card temp is in the 80s.

In my 600T, I'm not sure how much benefit I'd get if I move the bottom HDD rack (top one is gone already) and relocate the 3 HDDs into the 5" bays. If anything, that's just more air to the cooler bottom 670 I'd think.

Yes. Your Heaven score of 46FPS with a single EVGA GTX 670 FTW is completely normal. May I ask your factory core clock?

Phew that's really warm. I leave my fans on auto, and even then with the top card fan only getting up to 50-55% my top card barely hits 80 Celsius. I wonder if there's a more serious issue going on thinking.gif

Ok, definitely case cooling. It was cool enough with 1 GPU. So I turned around my rear case fan, and the top SLI 670 is 10 degrees cooler playing Max Payne. smile.gif Good enough for now, just glad I could avoid putting fans on the side panel.
