After 3 hrs of thinking i cant decide which 670 to get....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130787

Seems like many people on this forum topic have this so ill be pretty much joining the bandwagon. Looks like some people have hit 1300mhz but dont use water cooling if that what it takes to hit that mark.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125423

Has custom cooler. Im sure many agree that having a card with lower load tempts is great.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130785

So i pay a premium of 60$ for an extra 2gb of vram. Not bad, it was originally 484$

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130782

Comes with a 30$ gift card at stock price. The amount of money we spend at newegg who couldn't use 30$ off something....

Suggestions please

Get the 670 FTW or the GB one, I would never get a reference one imo. The FTW hits higher clocks constantly(while the GB is no slouch either). It is a difficult choice to make. I have seen most FTW's(Including mine) do 1200+ out of the box which is of course really nice. I also have not seen many people if any at all under 1250 on a FTW, while I have seen some stuck in 1180's on the GB but have seen many people also with good clocks. If you dont mind the GB dumping all of the heat into your case while staying quite and cool, get it. If you like the idea of the FTW exhausting all of the air out of your case and dont mind it being a tad bit louder at load(Only if you make a custom fan profile that makes it go over 70-75% though) but getting a greater chance of a higher clocking card(which tbh I would say is more crucial because of your resolution) get the FTW. Hoped I helped in some way tongue.gif . Both are very solid cards so you really cant go to wrong with either.

I wouldn't think that 1.28GHz would be my cap, seeing as my card can boost to 1.2GHz, I assumed it could hit 1.3GHz at least (unless I just got a lucky boost number lol).
Anyone mind helping me out? smile.gif
It simply means you cant hit 1.3ghz.
Yes that's all it means. Stock boost is not a sure indication of max oc. A ftw owner here has a similar stock boost of about 1215 and he can only add +20.

I'd say the chances are very similar of getting a good clocker with either. Maybe within 5-10%. But the gigabyte cooler is much better. Mine never went above 55c. Some ftw owners have a hard time keeping theirs under 70c.

Im gonna have to agree on that. Having a custom cooler thought it would exhaust the heat from the back faster but instead it dumps the heat in the case. Not a good idea for me if i want to sli 2 of the same cards.

Well, I picked up my new baby today and WOW!.... Just incredible how smooth and nice the games look now. I did have an error installing the nVidia drivers on the PhysX and Updater drivers but everything seems to be running fine.

The tower pic was after I installed the H100 and cleaned up the cables. Hense the 460's in there still smile.gif

Ran BF3 for a bit and temps didnt go above 60 at 98% load using up to 1300 MB of the ram. More testing tomorrow!
