As for the reference card, both cost around $328. I could get it cheaper from Newegg since its already available here in Malaysia. But its hard to claim warranty as i need to send it back to U.S if anything happens. frown.gif

do you really need those card now? If not, my suggest is wait for a 700 series card + you can save some money to buy it. If yes, my suggest is wait for a couple days to get some money, so you can get the PE card, because I don't know exactly about the Palit card IF you are talking about overclocking.

btw, not interested gigabyte or asus card? or the price is more expensive than those two card you mentioned?

i have driver 306.97.. but my screens have locked up 2 or 3 times since i've installed it.. any insight or pointers on how to correct this?

I thought it might be getting too warm, so i boosted the fans to 65% and left them there.. and hasn't locked up yet.. obviously yet being the keyword...

Good choice mate!
Maybe try doing a full uninstall of the current drivers then reinstalling new ones? That would be my guess. My MSI motherboard had issues moving to the 6** series cards but a bios update for the motherboard fixed that. Maybe check to see if your motherboard has new bios for the 6**series cards?
Looks like your power % is fixed. What does it go upto under load? Mine maxes at 35%..lol

edit: You can put new thermal paste on the card. It desperately needs it! Asus just puts on a HUGE layer of thermal paste on their cards. New paste and that'll drop your temps a good 5C easy. Also make sure the heatsink screws are nice and tight. I lapped my cooler surface, although I wouldn't recommend it since its a direct heatpipe cooler, chance of destroying the heatpipes. I've got a near mirror finish on the heatpipes and aluminum for the heatsink. Although I won't use that cooler since I've got it under water. The DCII heatsink works so incredibly well! Great heatpipes!

Greetings all,

First of all, NVIDIA RULES! thumb.gif
I say this as a former long time user of Radeon cards. haha. My transition from ATi was to the GTX 550ti back about a year and a half ago. I have become quite fluent in GPUs and was very excited tos ee the release of the Kepler cards for sure! I am sure Maxwell will be just as fun..
Anyways, I jumped from a GTC 550ti to a 560 and then a 480 since they had a $210 sale on Newegg earlier this year.
While I love running games at ultra res at 1920x1080 at 60-80 fps it runs like a 1972 Chevelle. Its big, powerful and NOT efficient. It takes a lot of power to run.. I would love to run this card in tandem with another 480 but it will push my 750w PSU to the brink.
My friend is looking at getting into the desktop PC market and I have agreed to build him one. We have the shopping list together and the 480 is on his list. I might just sell him my 480 and I would go for a Kepler card. I had my target set for a GTX 680 but with my getting a water cooling loop, I am looking to get a 670 instead. Looking at benchmarks, the 670 still whoops some serious booty and outperforms my 480 in nearly every facet.

I can also use 2 of them eventually!
I need someone to sell me on this idea of buying the EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition.
Especially those of you that play Battlefield 3... and also if you play BF3.. my origin ID is EVGAmer! biggrin.gif:D

Now...you may think "what is this doing in a 670 club thread?? wink.gif"

Well.......some might recall my complaints over the green writing on the 670 ftw & stock 680 shrouds. Thinking on how to get rid of it without modding the shroud and risking the warranty, I got the idea of replacing it with a 680 signature shroud, which has that sleek aluminum black/white/carbon finish to it so, just out of the blue, PPCS had such shroud (brand new) + a 680 back-plate for a staggering price of 23$! Grabbed it (obviously) and it fits perfectly! (as per advice from Jacob @ evga). Needless to say the card just looks way more awesome now! Eventually though, I'll go under water with this card but until then, it's colors won't bother me anymore. wink.gif
