anyways, i've started playing far cry 3 and it has pushed my 670's temps to 61 deg C...that's still OK for operating temps yeah?

my 670 hits 75 degrees and it is OK

Although it already downclocks itself by 13MHz, right?

yep

13 mhz is not a dealbreaker at all.

My room is ver very hot in the summer and in BF3 I see 75 degrees and everything is fine.

Right. What is the downlock rate of the gtx 670? 13MHz per how many degrees increase?

Grab FTW or Windforce, anything with ref. board either the 670 or the 680. You'll find it much much easier when you decide to go W/C later. Wider block compatibility (full block). But if you're not going to, anything goes really. My two FTWs stay at mid-forty and that's with the restrictive DEMCi filters.

I just found out this

http://www.overclock.net/t/1265110/the-gtx-670-overclocking-master-guide#post_17391119

According to the graph in the post by SeanPoe

1000

So even if you hut 95 degrees (God forbid) there is int a serios drop in mhz.

Thank you for that. And you can always compensate for that drop by overclocking the GPU, yes? But overclocking increases the temp as well. So in that essence, do the benefits of overclocking outweigh the downclocking due to temps?

wow, I only wish my 480 would run those temps if I didnt have to run the GPU fan at 90%
My temps soar if I leave it running on auto.

I suppose a little update from this post ~~~>> http://www.overclock.net/t/1255980/official-nvidia-gtx-670-owners-club/1830_30#post_18639315

Haven't had any problems since i've done this:

no lock ups, no nothing.

Very happy with this card.
