Returned my EVGA 670 right now.

When the Asus 670 TOP is available here, I'll get one. Last chance for the 600-series biggrin.gif If it dissapointing, I'll go get my old Voodoo 2 tongue.gif

Did you notice some sort of coil whine when reaching a specific load? When I hit something above 70% load, it kinda sounds like this

But ... my 560ti and my 570 had this, too. Can't be that bad, or can it? Oo

Okay, I'm glad (but dissapointed) to know that I'm not the only one who has this problem with the fan. My first thought was, "Why does my EVGA 670 sound like an endless frog ribbit"?

EVGA answered my Email.

They said, the only thing that I can do, is RMA the card.

Maybe this helps you guys a bit.

A shame though. For nearly 400 bucks I want to have something that works without flaws mad.gif

I'd agree with Sheld0r. Not much point in RMA'ing unless they replace the fan assembly, as you're chances are fairly high to have the same problem with another card. I think it's a design flaw more than anything else. EVGA made awesome choices with the shroud design and adding more mass to the heatsink itself, but I have no idea what they were thinking when they punished end-users with this turbine. Maybe they figured that gamers use loud case fans and tuck their cases deep beneath their desk under a pile of jewel cases and energy drinks such that they would not notice the motor noise.

Oh, and yeah Sheld0r, I did notice noise under load. Not quite coil whine in a high-pitched manner, but more of a hum or buzz. Less distracting, but still audible.

Yeah, loud mouse is loud. The HD 5770 put out lots of airflow noise... lots, but not so much in the way of motor noise. This issue is much more offensive because it sounds like the graphics card equivalent of an old Honda with an aftermarket muffler accelerating.

My eVGA 670 SC are super quite. Previously in BF3 when I used my 460's and later my 560 Ti DS cards; both setups were super loud.
