Yeah, asus non reference. Photo in my profile, no water cooling. The topmost card get up to just under 80 during benching, bottom card never more than 65. Gaming, well, i play most games unclocked, not needed. However, for Crysis 3 i have a little Oc to help out, temps same as benching but stable 60-70 fps@ V.high system , i do lower shadows to mid and water to low, water still looks good. I would like to be able to lower the temp on the top card, not sure how to go about it.

Guys I am getting fps drops with my msi gtx 670 power edition. my system specs that I use now are :

Fx 6100 @ 4.6 GHZ -- GIGABYTE 970A --MSI GTX 670 POWER EDITION -- SANDISK EXTREME 120 GB SSD -- 500 GB SEAGATE HDD -- 8 GB RAM -- COOLERMASTER HYPER 212 EVO CPU Cooler -- AEROCOOL VS-3 CASE -- 500 WATT XIGMATEK PSU -- VE 2 ARCTIC COOLING + 2 AKASA CASE FANS -- 27" ASUS VE276Q LED MONİTÖR

for example I am getting 60-70 fps at very high in crysis 3 but in some scenes it drops to 35-40 while shooting for example. that causes lag to kill enemies. also even I tried medium settings I get 100+ fps but suddenşy drops to 40-50. what is this reason ? is it a sign of cpu bottleneck ? because I was using hd 7850 with no problem like this . Yes I couldnt get over 60 fps with 7850 but at least no sudden drops.

I just got in my second 670 ftw. I love the card but it has been a bit on the touchy side. Only able to run some of my games. The rest crash and so does windows scoring. I am planning to do some benching and testing this weekend to see if maybe I need to do an RMA on my first one and them have SLI going.

I picked up a pair of PNY 670s (2gb) about a month ago and was waiting on all of our stuff to arrive (ok, I only cared about the computer...) so I could get to work. In early January, I'd upgraded to a 7970 Ghz Edition from a pair of 6950s that were pretty good overclockers. The performance was as close to identical as you could get and because of that, I was pretty disappointed. The one big plus was that the 7970 did it with no noticeable increase in fan noise while the 6950s made it seem like my tower was about to taxi out the front door and take off. The big minus, the 7970 had stability issues at default settings so I had to return it a couple days later. Oh yea, the fan noise is uh, bad. They arent quite as loud as the 6950s (reference coolers) they replaced but they sound dreadful. The fans arent very well balanced so they rattle the tower pretty bad which gives an overall impression of being cheap.

I have no brand preference and have bounced between both manufacturers a number of times over the last 15 years but after reading some reviews regarding frame latency, I decided to give nVidia another shot to see if I would notice any difference. Rebates led me to the PNY cards which ended up biting me in the butt since Newegg posted the wrong info on their website but now that I'm in Japan, another return wasnt real practical (shipping would run about $45). Thankfully, the cards are in good working order so there are no issues on that front.

This morning I set out to see what was available on the overclocking front and the answer on the core front is, not much. Max core clock before throttling was 1137mhz (memory still at default) with a max temp of 72 degrees on the upper card and 65 degrees on the lower. I was surprised to see a flat graph in Precision given it broke 70 degrees but it didnt throttle at all. I think there is a fair bit of headroom for overclocking once I get them cooler (hoping to have them on water in the next month) as Power% was 109 and 104.

So my impressions.

Plus: Priced competitively (currently listed with a $50 rebate though mine was $20) and some overclock potential.
Cons: Poor cooling, poor fan quality, and boring to look at.

Edit: Made it up to 1215/1702 for some benchmarking. Sitting at 15,705 in 3dmark right now and 24th over on HWBot for 2x670s. Only took about 15 BIOS cuts to get to where I'm at right now lol.

I swapped the location of the two cards and the hotter of the two previously is doing considerably better in the lower slot. They're usually within 3 degrees now with the lower card still being the warmer of the two. ASIC values were 68.5 and 67.5 on these!
