Hey guys, this might seem to be a stupid question but I need a few opinions. Ive been doing a lot of research lately about the 670 and 680 and im wondering if its worth upgrading to the 670 or should I hold off till next year even though the new technology of these cards in apparently fantastic. The reason why i'm asking is because I currently own a Gigabyte gtx 570 but I want a little more gpu strength. Im asking you guys because who else better to ask than 670 owners. I know some of you had 570's from reading this thread, have you found a worthy boost in performance for the money? Just need a few opinions.

Cheers guys

The Gigabyte WindForce OC GTX 670 has all five power phases.

I never said it didn't wink.gif It too uses a fully-enabled GTX 680 PCB. Unfortunately, they went with a blue PCB as is their custom. I love their PCB support bracket, though. That card with a black PCB and nickel plated heatsink would look epic and intimidating. They could slap a higher overclock and price premium on it, too wink.gif

Just pulled the trigger on 2 FTW 670s from Amazon.com.

Going to put a listing up for my 680. Had it since launch. Fast card but it overclocks like poo and has a very very feint coil whine. Was going to get another for sli sometime down the road but I couldn't resist the FTW 670 at 420$ a pop.

Hope they are both great overclocking, coil whine free cards!

Pretty sure it will be the same as a reference 680 since its the same cooler. Which I will say is not very quiet.

I went from a stock 680, to a windforce 670. Huge difference. I thought the 680 was not too bad but I have a temporary one in my system now and it made me realize how loud the dang thing is.

Yeah the 670 FTW uses the same cooler as 680 reference. On the contrary though, I find the cooler to be very quiet and very effecient. The fan is near silent until about 60% speed. At that speed I never see it go above low 70s even after hours of gaming/folding!! On top of that, I'm not dumping any GPU heat into my case. FOR THE WIN!!!

I'm glad you like it. I have a 1:1 fan profile. When playing BF3 it hits 65c so with the fan at 65% I feel its fairly loud. Not like gpu's of the but still. I guess I just got spoiled with the windforce.

With these cards I never want it over 70 hopefully not very close as its going to throttle. I understand its not a lot but still I don't like it doing that.
