[Official] NVIDIA GTX 670 Owners Club - Page 36

Got mine in today as promised, only installed a little while ago so only was able to test Skyrim so far, loving it so far, got some pics below, came from amazon.

Came in with the soft core foam that seems to be an oddity I've read on here and on youtube
700

Sitting and compared next to my reference 6950 (Love the stock shroud and back plate quality over the new baby tho tongue.gif) A bit shorter and a bit cooler @ idle:
30c - GTX 670
59c - 6950
700

Inside of the Cosmos II, sorry for the crappy pic quality, was at F3 (or so) aperture and handheld the dslr @ 1/10th a second

Thanks but yah it would get down to 56c on freak days but never got over 70c during load surprisingly. I had it @ 40% fan speed like the 670 too, was the same way in my CM Sniper as well.

Got my two FTWs today! So far they are amazing. I'll post pics and benchmarks maybe tmrw cause I'm kinda busy today. 1st world problem stuff.

Anyway, quick question, is it possible to set "Digital Vibrance" per application? Cause it makes BF3 look amazing and other games not so much. Thanks.

Edit: Also, where is the best place to go for the newest drivers? Guru3D?

Edit2: Last question, there is no need for separate SLI drivers like AMD's CAP is there?

Best place to get drivers is always straight from Nvidia directly at Nvidia.com or GeForce.com. There isn't a separate set of drivers needed just for SLI.

My card must be trash, I have installed three different driver versions (uninstalled with drive sweeper), disabled all monitoring programs, and under clocked my GPU and I still have crashes. It has crashed in GTA IV, Battlefield 3, Crysis, Crysis 2, and Starcraft 2. I looked at my label and it looks like my vanilla EVGA card actually has an SC sticker on the PCB with the serial 02G-P4-2672-KR.

On a side note you are using adaptive vsync right? This is unrelated to our discussion but its a superior form of vsync. I like it better you enable it through the nvidia control panel and disable it in game. (forgive me if you already knew)

No actually, I didn't know that. I'm not a huge gamer, so I've never taken the time to really get to know things like Vsync, Adaptive Vsync, AA, MSAA ... all that stuff. Although our little conversation has inspired me to understand them better. I only turned Vsync on in BF3 because I was under the impression that it was better if my card could handle it at certain resolutions. I'll give Adaptive Vsync a go tonight and turn it off in the game. Thank you for the suggestion.

Edit - So in reading about V-Sync, it appears that I may already have Adaptive V-Sync on, and it's overriding the V-Sync on setting in BF3, as I was not experiencing being "locked to multiples of 60" on FPS. I wasn't going from 60FPS to 30FPS, but anywhere in between in the range I described previously. I'll have to check my NVidia settings tonight when I get home, but I'm guessing it was Adaptive and I didn't know it.
Thanks a lot for all the help.

If it's not stable at its factory settings you'll want to either return it to the seller or RMA it with EVGA. You should not have to work to make a card stable at factory settings.

Just bought two EVGA GTX 670 FTW from NE. Three more days. Will post pic soon.

Has anyone tried the EVGA global warranty? Thanks.
