In July, I'm getting a Gigabyte GTX 670. Pretty excited - although I feel it'll be a bit overkill. tongue.gif Ah well, when you can max out BF3, who's complaining?

If anyone is running a GTX 670 4GB card in Surround can comment on your experience with your card in surround on this thread here to help a fellow OCN member would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. smile.gif

Question to GTX 670 owners:
I'm about to buy a 670...Should I I buy one that has the 670 PCB or the 680 PCB?

I noticed the ones with the 680 PCB have better coolers but they are much larger. Does anyone know if 670's with good coolers will be released on the normal 670 PCB?
The 670's built on 680 boards are probably a little higher spec and will also be easier to find a full coverage water cooling block for.
I have the reference design. The pcb is only 6.75 inches long (with fan over 9").

My reference card is pretty quiet on air. However, most of the time I game with headphones on. It will be watercooled as soon as the block arrives.

Unless you're really pressed for space, the answer is that you should buy a 670 on the 680 PCB. It's no-brainer given current pricing. As far as I've ever seen, there's no 670 reference-sized boards with good coolers, and I don't know of any coming out (although one might eventually).

Well I rolled the dice on an Asus DCII Top 670, no problems to report. Locked in voltage with precisionx and get a boost to 1293mhz without touching anything. No crashes or artifacts so far. Totally in love with this card!

(will submit validation soonish)

Just ordered a EVGA GTX 670 FTW. Will post some pictures/benchmarks when I get the card.
I need some advice on what to do with my Asus 670 TOP. I've had it for around 2 weeks, and so far it seems stable at 1280, and the only problem I've entcountered so far is a driver crash, where I rebooted the game and it was fine. Actually one other problem I've seen, which seems not to affect anything is occassional flashing of a pinkish frame when playing WoW. I have not really been able to test this card for an extended amount of time because of the poor cooling in my case. It runs heaven maxed at 1280 for 30 mins until I hit 70c and it throttles down to 1254..the temp continues to climb so I end heaven. I've played bf3 maxed for 2 hours no vsync fine, and the card is at 70c. My question is whether I should jump ship while I can with amazon and pick up a reliable FTW 670 instead. Im in no financial position to buy another card for awhile if this TOP craps out and I'm stuck with it. Thoughts? Could I possibly keep my case door open and set up a fan blowing directly onto the card so I can run some longer stability tests? How much worse is the FTW performance wise in comparison to the TOP? I may exchange performance for reliability.
One other question, if I do end up keeping the card, what is the return policy for amazon and what is the warranty from Asus?
-thanks!!

I would go for a custom pcd 670 (the ones on 680 boards) unless they are sold out and you want one RIGHT NOW. I personally love the FTW edition and can water cool on a 680 gpu block if I decide on SUPER silent operation. The cooler on the ftw isnt as quiet as the asus dc ii one but in my small case I want the hot air to get blown out the back.

I dunno, if you think its related to the card return it. The screen flash if only in that game can actually be the game. The driver crash was from an unstable overclock so 1280mhz might not be stable or needs to be cooler to remain stable. Asus should offer free cross shipping and they will send one out before they recieve your bad one if you let them put a hold on your credit card.

I do love my FTW version and after hearing how legendary evga customer service is I figured its worth trying it out. If I ditched the ftw one it would be for an msi twin frozer 670. Evga now offers early shipment of an rma replacement too and combined with their MUCH better customer service its a win. The asus cooler is SILENT though as I had one before the FTW but it couldnt overclock too good.

So I picked up the EVGA 670 FTW. I'm going to return my 7950, terrible driver problems.
