Have you thought about looking into Gigabyte? Reference card money for a non-reference card. Great at cooling especially if you have no issues with airflow in your case. Seems to be good at the lottery and at the end of the day, that is what really matters. Look here as a sample of the different cards. So far only other GB cards have out paced mine. I am running 1278core/7200mem. As always, YMMV.

Good luck on your card choice. thumb.gif

I only got that with my gtx670 the day before yesterday when the card broke (massive artifacting and crashing in every game). if you are getting square patches in games and your browser even and the games crash within a minute of launching them, you may have a bunk gpu like me. my card was fine for a month, but I updated to 304.48 and Asus' new vbios, and it was never the same. clock speeds in games would be all over the place (387mhz, 608mhz, crazy numbers like that) and performance was terrible. I went back on 301.42 and it went back to normal for the most part. my gpu is now going back for rma. take a picture of a game with steam overlay (F12 to take a picture) because if your gpu is doing what mine did, programs like precision x and afterburner may not work for taking a screenshot.

It's defective, rma it. The ram on the card was bad.

I mailed my card away yesterday. still can't shake the feeling that the vbios/drivers did it. it passed all tests (3dmark11 and Heaven with +550 memory offset in one run of heaven) and I put the memory to +100 offset. it worked fine for a month. the minute I updated the vbios (for no reason which makes it even worse) the card is history.

yea that's the first thing I tried. I know the card is bunk because it would not flash back. frown.gif

Here's my highest Heaven Score:
700

and some other screen shots... Already submitted my validation for the thread thumb.gif
486
398

***Question***
Having some problems with 3DMark though... its not using my 670FTW I was getting around 20FPS +-10 and then realized that it was probably using my integrated HD4000 graphics... anyone know how to fix that? Also BF3 Close Quarters was getting some screen tearing (bought it 2 days ago) before that had the card @stock and was getting 50-90fps on Ultra presets (no tearing)

***OT***
Fairly new to OC'ing my highest score had a few "Artifacts" basically a flicker or two on the screen (once twice while running) so I've turned down the OC as you can see in my pics.

Only other card I've OC'd was my GTX480... which was a beast OCer but I sold it rolleyes.gif

@ FishCommander - if you saw a tearing line that happens twice when the bench circled the Dragon, it happens to everyone.

To really test your card and compare your score run it at AA x8, Aniostropy x16, at 1680x1050 and extreme tesselation on. There is a bench off on OCN and if you scroll down the list of entries you will see other single cards for you to compare yours to.

Nvidia cards don't do as well on the Heaven 3.0 benchmarks compared to AMD however we do better on 3-D Mark 11 than AMD.

I just ordered Catleap q270 (27" 2560x1440 IPS screen). Question is, does single 670 run games on decent settings on the native resolution?. Not gonna use AA tho (card is currently clocked at 1.3ghz). Playing mostly Diablo 3 and WoW which will definately run on highest settings.

I ran a single 670 with my Crossover 27Q while the other card was going through RMA, and it handled all my games just fine. I was able to max out BF3, which was most important to me biggrin.gif
