Connection problems?

Thread Starter
i have 100mb internet and there's around 5 pcs plus other random devices like iphones and thing, on my dads computer he hits 92.53mb down 8.92mb up and 5 ping all day but every other pc gets between 40-60mb any time of the day even if his pc is off. I understand theirs many variables like route and networks cards and things so i did a test and connected only his pc straight into the 1 port on the modem, same speeds as above, connected my sig rig strait to the modem and got this

135

while i was strait connected i ran ipconfig

Fist there is no need to mask your ip ... if nything you would want to mask you externel ;D

What is the load on your box when you try getting the 100meg link?

Also have you checked you pcis clean for viruses / other network activity before trying ther speedtest through doing a packet capture?

If you put your device behind a router, the router will assign your LAN clients private IP addresses and map those to the router's external IP.
Everything is functioning as it should in that regard.

The link between your NIC and modem's ethernet interface is 1 gigabit, the link between your modem and ISP is much less.

What router are you using, anyway?
Most bargain-bin devices don't have enough CPU to reliably route that much traffic.
