Did I screw up with my 670 choice?

Let me preface this by saying I bought this card with the intention of putting it on water and heavy overclocking. I had the choice of buying the base model evga or a windforce for the same price. I chose the evga because it had a reference design which means there should be waterblocks for it. Also, they have a good warranty and I did like the smaller PCB. I am hearing now that the windforce also shares the 680 PCB so it already has waterblocks out for it. Now, in terms of overclocking, the windforce seems to be getting really good OC results. It also looks like the windforce has a 8+6 pin adaptor as opposed to the 6+6 along with 5 phase pwm versus 4 on the reference.

It looks like it was not a good decision. I bought it through newegg so I can't really return it either.

I doubt you will ever notice a difference between both models. Don't worry, be happy!

Since when does newegg not accept returns?

You CAN return it. Simply refuse delivery. If you do this you will be refunded the original price and the shipping cost. Leave a note for your ups driver saying to please refuse delivery. Write the tracking number and that stuff on the note. If you do it this way there is no restocking fee of any kind.

This is the preferred way to RMA. I'm not sure why exactly that is, but I guess they know you haven't opened anything for sure.

Hey, who are you stooge? lol.

Just to be clear ... I wouldn't personally get one of the reference cards. I'd get the GB (actually I did), or the Asus DCII or the MSI TF versions ... whenever those are available. I say full-size 680 board w/better power section and aftermarket cooling FTW thumb.gif

But that's just me. The stooge, apparently.

Is this OK to do? I want to return it and buy another one, I just want to make sure I am not breaking any rules.

And brettjv I think you are right in your assessments of the 670's
