I'd start looking in the threads relating to OSX and security like for example the kapersky thread..It's gets hashed out in great detail..or you could google it.

I'm not assuming anything, but iOS is more secure because of it.

For the most part only technologically literate people use Linux, whereas the majority using a smartphone just... aren't. It's necessary for the OS to protect the user, which is why Apple doesn't allow apps which include compilers, interpretors (in most cases) and any app which tries to download executable code remotely.

iOS isn't a fully fledged OS for tablets.

The difference is that Windows are only barring them on the tablets to get a foothold. There'#s no logical reason to block them AND Windows has always been an open system.

For me, all this means is that I won't be getting a Windows 8 ARM based tablet and Windows can go screw itself. I'll get an Intel based tablet because I'll be shot dead before I use Internet Explorer for anything other than checking my HTML pages compatibility.

Actually it is, it just has different pro's and con's compared to Android. Anyway, iOS 6 is around the corner... only a month to go until the beta, so yippee!

Android isn't really a fully fledged OS either though. Not like Windows is going to be!

Well you said 'tablet OS', in which case both iOS and Android are. Windows 8 is fully fledged desktop OS, albeit with some drawbacks on ARM.

The unfortunate thing is that arm is better than the intel options for tabs. Android may not be full os, but it is moving in that direction unlike ios. And you get the advantages of arm.

Hey hey hey! It is too moving in the direction of being a full OS, it's just got some hurdles to get around as iOS unlike Android is trying to do so without a file system, etc. Hopefully iOS 6 is a game changer.

Firefox isn't banned from Windows RT, they just have to make the browser for the Metro API. You know, like Microsoft has been saying for months about Win8 ARM API limitations. But that wouldn't create sensationalist web headlines that draw free attention and advertising to the Mozilla Foundation.
