You got everything you had in the first 2 Max Payne games plus a lot more. Let me point out some things I liked about the gameplay and the game itself:
* The fire fights feel extremely good. They never get repetitive, the same as the bullet impact scenes which are likely gonna pop up when you killed the last guy of the room.
* I love the fact you can shoot on a 360° sense while being on the floor.
* I liked a lot the fact that you need to keep moving all the time, as taking cover won't heal you up (your health bar doesn't regenerates automatically). The enemies are very smart and will go after you if you take cover; they will even throw grenades at you, forcing you changing cover. For me the only purpose of taking cover (which is something that they implemented perfectly) is just to give you some seconds to decide what to do next, if you are either injured or you need ammo.
* I don't know how they called this technology but the game is extremely fluid in terms of cut scenes - gameplay. After a cutscene ends (or right before it starts) you don't have like a pause, loading screen or what have you. It's all like "in a row".
* Being able to use two weapons at the same time making great combinations of them fits on the game perfectly fine.
And for now that's it. I couldn't play it for so long, but I'm definitively gonna get it. Graphically it's not bad at all (of course not as good as Uncharted). But only graphics nerds care about graphics when you have a great game
. And to answer your question, the game still feels like a Max Payne regardless to storytelling. The "comic" style says present once again
