Trouble detecting my HDTV with my gtx 670

Hey, I just upgraded from a radeon 4870 to an evga gtx 670 SC. Love everything about it so far except when it comes to my HDTV. This was never a problem with my radeon. Today when trying out my 670 for the first time, I noticed that the card will not detect my tv properly unless I have my tv turned on and set to the computer HDMI input before I turn on my computer. Meaning I have to restart my computer every time I want to watch a movie on my TV, very inconvenient. There was also some wonkiness going on where the driver was crashing when I was trying to duplicate the display on my monitor and computer while playing batman. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers already. Is this normal behavior for nvidia cards or is there something wrong?

Can anyone else test or verify this?

When the TV is shut off it correctly identifies as a panasonic hdtv with 1920x1080 resolution. However when I turn the tv on I can watch the nvidia controls change it to a generic "digital display" with a 1024x768 resolution. Even after this nothing appears on the TV, it disappears as soon as I try to make the TV my primary display.

Anyone? Thinking of RMAing my card if no one else has this problem.
