fx 8120 throttles down for some reason

i have it oc'd to 3.6 by just raising multiplier and for somereason it will drop down too 1800mhz according to cpuz

All new CPUs/GPUs downclock under idle to save electricity. Run super-pi or give the CPU some sort of load and it will go to max clock.

There is absolutely zero effect on maximum performance, but it's best to disable it if you are doing massive overclocks.

To disable it, disable Cool n Quiet/C1E in your bios.

Now it just seems really strage to me the same of the cores would throttle down under 100% load. ive turned off those 2 settings.

what exactly does APM do? and where is it located typically

i forgot where it is after im done editing this file i go in bios and check

in windows power management change you setting to performance, its set to balanced by default and it throtles when idle to save power

that also might be turbo core ,i would disable that also.
and the c6 state on the cpu advanced tab
