Palm grip suggestions?

Thread Starter
I have a Logitech mx518 and I'm looking for something similar, but that's a little more up to date. I really like the weight/size/feel of it but it's falling apart after a couple years and I think I could go for a bit higher dpi. Tha is for the I put. Trying to keep it around 50. Definitely not going over 100.

It's tough to recommend a mouse. It's not like a keyboard because you don't grab keyboards biggrin.gif
So i think you should go to shop and just feel them biggrin.gif You could start with g500 or g700.

I recently tried the Logitech g400 (Logitech's replacement of the mx518). I ended up returning it. Main reasons for returning were the weight, LOD, and sensor. It felt a little to heavy for me, the LOD felt high, and the sensor felt kinda off.

Currently sticking to and using a Microsoft intellimouse 3.0.

Yeah, the Logitech G400 is pretty much an updated MX-518 and the new ones come without prediction. Overall the G400 is said to be bit lighter overall due to the thinner cable. The G500 is quite nice but also costs more ans is heavier than the MX-518 even without the weights and the cable likes to kink up. There's mix reactions on the sensor performance and click quality.

You could try a Zowie EC1 or EC2 Evo Black editions or the Razer Deathadder. The MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 is discontinued and prices seem to be going on the used market. The MS IME 3.0 is really good with tracking and has a nice low lift off distance (you can even see the LED change in brightness once you lift the mouse up) and hopefully MS will revive the mouse in some way or form.

G400 can range from $40 - 50
G500 can range from $50 - 70 depending on sales or whatnot.
Razer Deathadder can range from $40 - 60 (Best Buy has it on sale, that is if you live in an area with a Best Buy)
Zowie mice listed seem to be going for $60

Actually it happens regardless. (Lift off or not) It's a power saving mode when the sensor isn't actively tracking.

I had a feeling that was the case as it's been a while since I've had the IME 3.0 (I had the original after PC Gamer reviewed it) and it's a shame MS decided to discontinue it instead of updating the hardware.

I want to update this to demote Logitech. I've been having clicking problems with my G500 and read on some sites that it's noturious about the misclick/doubleclick problem. You need a certain amount of pressure, otherwise it doubleclicks and this is a problem for almost all logitech models. Essentially it's a bad quality noname micro-switch problem.

Main left and right clicks? They're industry standard Omron D2FC-F-7N (10m). Not exactly no-name.

Some users did dismantle and found out no name on them biggrin.gif It's actually both buttons. You need a light to medium pressure, if you dont press enough or press hard it's gonna double click. It also happens clicking for the first time after 5 mins so it doesnt have to be consecutive clicks to trigger the problem, its about pressure.

And there's a user on Logitech forum it happened, with 2 replacement meaning 3x g500 mice in a row biggrin.gif
