I kinda wonder how far we'd be in terms of science and space if the Nazis did take over the whole world. Life would probably be less than pleasurable but i wonder about the science and space part.

How old are you? 12? Nazis? Are you serious? I bet you are an Obama fan also. Lets all strap on the Jack Boots March to the Nazi band so we can all take part in science and space. While we are at it lets perform cruel experiments on innocent children and burn millions of people.

Get a real life.

if you examine my post carefully, you will see that by world government, i mean like a legit coalition of all the countries (the UN dosnt even come close) where it would stupid to start a war with another,
thus progress for one member, is eventual progress for all, instead of progress for one country, and that country keeps the advancement to itself so it can vanquish other countries over resources

Sadly there's no such thing as a coalition of all countries and there never will be. Humans are violent creatures, hell we start wars because one group of people doesn't believe in the same thing as ours. Only way i'd ever see one government honing over the world is a regime. And sadly if a regime did star a world war, 90% likely their motives aren't very pleasant....

1. I think you took his nazi statement too seriously. He was merely pointing out that nazi germany was greatly focused on science and it would be interesting to see where we would be now in regards to that had they continued developing things. In fact, many scientists in post wwii america were german immigrants.

2. What does obama have anything to do with this?

I agree with his overall statement, we should be fighting less and researching more. That research however, cannot be started without a proper educational background, which sadly, is a huge problem these days.

Did you even read my post? I said "I wonder how the world of science and space would've turned out if the Nazi regime did take over.." keyword WONDER, you act like i'm promoting it or praising it. Also I'm not an Obama fan..which also has nothing to do with my statement .-.

Well America did recruit all the nazi scientists, mainly for thier space program, pretty safe to say its what got the USA to the moon ahead of the USSR.

I wanted to say the same but I'll suffice with this quote. Something of this a scale should not be built on earth itself, it should be built in orbit. Alongside one can focus on shuttle ships from and to the 'Enterprise'. 20 years could probably be sufficient to build the thing if it would be built here on earth forgetting about the little fact of getting it into space.

But the idea, that's the way to go. To save our gut we'll have to find a feasible way to get off this rock (not without kissing the floor and saying thank you for all the good) instead of hiding underground to escape anything bad that could show up at future's horizon. If not for that, then to find and locate wondrous places our species could propsper in thumb.gif

Perhaps I was a little harsh but today's generation seems to forget how evil and despicable the Nazis were. The US is the most technologically advanced nation on the planet. We placed men on the moon over 40 years ago and less than 25 years after we defeated the Nazis. We were able to do this because we are a free society that fosters independent thinking and entrepreneurship, that freedom was won at the cost of real American lives. Real people that lived and breathed, had families, and hopes and dreams, just like you and me. Under Nazi rule science and space exploration would have moved at a snails pace with slave labor carrying the biggest burden.

We have been the dominant leader in space exploration for over 50 years. I am confident that we will have our ship before the turn of the century, but it will be built by the US with or without cooperation from other countries and I doubt that it will look anything like the Enterprise, although it will probably carry it's name. In 1912 we only had about 300 miles of paved road. Look how far we have come in 100 yrs. Think what we can do in the next 100 years, and we don't need a Nazi world order to do it.

Yes, but most of the things we are and have today were because of that war, and war. My point is the world and it's countries shouldn't have to have a damn revolution in order to get anything done! I mean don't get me wrong. we've had lots of breakthroughs and stuff recently, but nothing that ensures our future as the human race, only things that accelerate our demise.
