Yeah, they're good.thumb.gif
FSP is the consumer division of Fortron Group. Fortron makes power supplies for many O.E. and after market manufactures such as OCZ.
The reason I recommended it, is because I own it. It runs flawless, and it's one of the best looking PSU's I've ever seen.
The flat modular cabeling is kind'a cool, it allows you to route the cables in some tight spaces, like behind the motherboard.

Cheers cheers.gif

Basically this is what I NEED

Quietest PSU possible (I hate noisy psus)
Modular
silver-gold efficiency
shorter (if possible) then the tx750

The Strider Plus isn't better unit than the Lightning, but it's a better deal.at 107$.. as for the Lazer Platinum, it's better than everything else.

The argument " your system draws xxx watts at full load, you don't need that much power" is pretty poor.
Take into consideration capacitor aging, efficiency, voltage regulation and ripple.
  • 20-30% capacitor aging reduces PSU capable wattage over a years use by at least 100 watts.
  • Efficiency is best at 50-60% PSU load.
  • Ripple is most defiantly lower below 80% load.

Tons of other stuff that affects wattage considerations when purchasing as well like ALL components used, fans, hdd,s Odd's and upgrades in the future? smile.gif

  • Must be a junk PSU if the caps age 20-30% over a year. Good quality caps last longer than that.
  • Not always.
  • Also, not always.

Well the rosewill wont work, Its to tall. The TX750 is 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) x 6.3"(L) so it needs to be smaller then that.

Caps age pretty quickly especially with 1-2 years of gaming and benching.
And haven't seen a PSU yet that has highest efficiency below aprox 45% and above 65%, 50-60% really is the range of best efficiency, if you can show me one I would like to see hehe.
Ripple, well you want that as clean as you can afford, sure you can aim for best ripple suppression at 80% + loads, but with cap aging and efficiency its smarter to just overshoot your total requirements wattage and have the wonderful side effect of having lower ripple levels.
