i7-950 / ASUS P6X58D-E Heat Problems

Hey guys, I seem to be having some heat problems with my system. I'm not over-clocking, yet my rig stays at a constant 60 degrees no matter if I'm using it or if it's idle. And if it's under full 100% load I'm getting temps of 75-80 degrees.

Now I recognize that these temps are "safe", however I assumed that with an after market cooler my temps would be somewhere around 40 degrees with light use, and maybe in the 60's on load. My aftermarket cooler is a CoolerMaster Hyper N520. However since the fan on it was roaring all the time, I switched back to the Intel stock cooler which...has the exact same temperature readout, isn't that just weird??????

I went as far as to even force some values in the BIOS just to make sure that the OS wasn't doing something funky, but it still hasn't helped me, so I've decided to come to the pros for help.

Please help me Obi Wan...you're my only hope.

CPU: i7-950
MoBo: ASUS P6X58D-E (Latest BIOS 0701)
OS: Mac OS X 10.7.4
RAM: 24GB G.Skill
Case: Corsair 600T
GPU: NVidia GTX 285

System HDD: Crucial SSD M4 128
HDD2: WD 500GB
HDD3-6: Samsung F3 1TB
HDD7: WD EARS 2TB

Here's the temp readout from my hardware monitoring app:

And here are the images I took of my relavent BIOS settings.

Hope someone can help...

you may have seated the cooler master heatsink wrong, you're idle temps should be anywhere from 40-50c with that cooler i would imagine.

That's what i thought at first too, but after re-seating it 3 times...something else has got to be the matter.
