Just ordered my 550D via Microcenter (Same price as Newegg for me!)

Half of my build is via MC, I have a 680 coming in via Amazon and I need to order PSU/HDD/RAM and a few fans via Newegg.. It should all be together by this coming weekend.

Does anyone else feel that this case just stores heat? When I take the side panel off, my GPU temps drop quite a bit. I'm actually considering replacing it with something different. The only thing holding me back is I am starting to collect cases and the wife may start to nag a bit smile.gif

Do you have the vent covers on? Thats for maximum silence if you want better temps take them off, And if they are already off throw some fans there.

You could either just take off the side vent cover and leave it off, or put a 200mm fan, or 2x 120mm or 2x 140mm fans on there. I put 2x 140mm YL med speed fans. No added noise really and keeps my GPUs in check. When gaming. If I am not gaming, tehn I can keep it on. But really my system is very silent even with my 4890s fans getting to ~50%. Im sure once I upgrade to a better GPU I can probably get it to close ti dead silent and still have good temps.
(My ambient temp is usually 78-80* in the room my pc is in.)

I have them off, and a 120MM fan in the top. I had GPU fans on the side, but I forgot how much it helped . It definately helps with the side off, so I can imagine it would help with some side fans, but then I need a new fan controller if I want my front door closed because it has switches.

I also hate how the case smells, but thats just me smile.gif
