Corsair 550D Owners Club - Page 44

I'm in the middle of my build. Just waiting for the last box of stuff to arrive (hopefully tomorrow). Need the optical drve, hdd, cpu cooler, and Windows 8. I noticed I have a nice blue & gold thing going on, which was totally unintended. HX650, Gigabyte GTX 670, and patriot RAM all blue. LOL no-one will see it though.

I think the Kraken X40 will fit on the bottom just fine. According to my measuring tape 400mm should leave slack even if i put the radiator directly on the bottom of the case wo a shroud. I think I will go for an intake push set up, rather than a exhaust.

Any thoughts on that - anyone think it will heat up the case too much?

Does your HX650 have the chirping sound? Only thing I'd change is that Full Sail and HX650 for a Pliney and HX750

Hey,

I apologizes if this question was already asked, I haven't been able to keep up with this thread recently due to school and work.

is that an NF-a14 in the back? (just noticed some other users with a14 fans in the back, I have one sitting around so I might just end up throwing back there) And what models did you go for in the front, NF-p12 or NF-f12 fans? Thanks! =)

Thanks for the heads up. (on the power supply, actually I haven't tried Pliney, but Full Sail is good stuff tongue.gif). I just have booted to BIOS so far and it hasn't heated up enough for the fan to speed up. I will cross my fingers that my HX650 doesn't chirp. If I send it back for a HX750, would I have to go w/o a PSU until they send me a new one? That would be a huge bummer.

Yup you'd be out of commission during the RMA process. Luckily I live a short drive to their RMA office so I handled everything in person. Check out the youtube videos too see what it sounds like. Hopefully yours is fine, but Corsair support is really helpful and processed everything quickly.

Corsair offers an advanced RMA service for at least some of their products - I would ask if PSUs are also included.

I believe this is a "pay a deposit, get it back upon receipt of defective product" type of scenario.

If you've got some spare cash in your account it's worth it to have an uninterrupted replacement process.

Just swap in the new one when it arrives and send the old one back afterwards.

I think there's a time limit for you to ship the defective unit...

Edit: If you read the "How to make a warranty claim" portion on this page, they do seem to offer it for all of their products:

http://www.corsair.com/en/support/warranty

•Consumers may request advance replacement but must provide a valid credit card to secure the shipment

Well I had to cure my case fan frenzy and ordered a couple 120mm Scythe GTs for the front intakes, and 2 Noctua NF-P14s for my exhaust and radiator. Now I should be 100% content w my 550D!

%)

Pic to follow when I get everything installed this weekend.

Indeed, I just went through Advance RMA with Corsair for the whole case, was $180 hold on my AMEX and fell off already and I've been sick for 2 weeks so they haven't received my old case yet. Their customer/tech support is exceptional though. Very friendly people.

Huh, didnt see this thread when I got mine, just the thread that has all the Corsair Obsidion cases.

I cut out the bottom of the drive bay in a way that offers up to 140mm of width room in the front for rad space. You could even fit a 3x120 rad in the front if you didnt need any 5.25 bays. With a 2x120, you can still use the top three (fan controller or disc drive, plus dual bay res).

Didnt take long at all to do, just three cuts from a dremmel, and some sanding. Doesnt effect the structure of the case, or looks in anyway.

Ill post some pics when I get them uploaded.
