Ati radeon 6950 overclock - Page 3

Well we can rule out it's not GPU clocks causing the issue.

Are you running any CPU intensive programs in the background, or other GPU usage programs. I.e. screen capture software, Folding@home, Virtual Machines and the likes.

Possibly even have programs consuming large amounts of RAM? (Web browsers with Flash Videos, multiple tabs, etc)

no i only run avira free antivirus and Internet download manager..i have a good internet connection at about 85 mbits/s and i even tried to play with the μtorrent open downloading and uploading..i can assure you that when i had the torrent open i had no lag and played pretty smooth with some minor lags..yesterday i had everything closed only the two programs above were open and i had a very bad experience. too much lag. i already said on other posts tha i had a 750W power supply.maybe that's not enough and some parts are underpowered i dont know. and my ram is at about 30% busy when iam playing so i think that my ram is not the problem
post #23 of 41
Well, I'd assume you've already tried this but just a quick restart of your computer and starting up the game as usual.

Have you tried disabling the Antivirus, and canceling any scans (or background scanners) and trying again. It might be there there's a background scan taking place / trying to when you start your computer. Aside from that it's a process of elimination and checking through components and any software you've installed recently.

Also, I'm not disputing your internet connection. But just going for a clean playthrough /startup with minimal running programs is the best idea.

well it's not happening just this time.every time i play diablo 3 and i am so specific because thats the only game i play it's lagging and the gameplay is not so smooth as i want it to be. i want to play it perfect and i assume that my system specs are way too high to experience such problems.maybe the problem is somewhere else i'll even try a format someday soon. How about my score at 3Dmark 11 did you see it? @ShadowEW?
Your graphics score is 1400. A normal 6950 will get 4000-5000, so something is definitely up with your card (or affecting it anyway).

I guess it might be worth to try the ol' "take the card out and put it back in, see what it does".

maybe it is underpowered and the 750W isn't enough

750W is more than enough. Fill out your rig specs so we can see what your system consists of.
