In order to break 11K on the GPU, you're going to need a very good overclocking 670. The 470s will more times than not win this benchmark

Your 470s will bring around 300 dollars I bet.  You will only need to pay out of pocket 100 dollars for the 670. You ought to do it. The pros outweigh the cons and I think you know what those are. wink.gif

Oh and heads up: The Gigabyte 670 OC Windforce is back in stock on Amazon.

What about the OC 560 ti 448 cards?

I would x1000 prefer a slightly lower performing 670 vs 2 470s

Um ... I don't, like, have any 560ti 448 cards headscratch.gif

And yeah, I'm hoping I prefer the 670 as well thumb.gif

Oh yeah, forgot you already bought yours redface.gif . I saw your poll and thought that you were still thinking about buying another Fermi card.

In that case, I hope I validated your reasons for buying!

Agreed ... part of the reason I'm replacing my 470's is that I'm in AZ, and it's about to be 100F+ for four straight months, 24/7. And as you imply, single cards don't need as high of FPS to be smooth as SLI does, so in reality I'm expecting the 670 to lose slightly in terms of raw FPS in the benchmarks, but still be able to match the 470's in terms of max playable settings, whilst kicking out a lot less heat ... which is important when your power bill is nearly $350/mo during the summer and your room is hot even with AC running at all times thumb.gif
So what is your max observed operating frequency on your 670, might I ask?
EDIT: Added Crysis and Crysis 2 Benchies to the list ... can't have benchmark thread without Crysis, now, can we biggrin.gif

stock i see 1201mhz boost clock which astounded me , might be cuz it runs so cool , max 66-67 degrees with the fan below 35% most of the time. i boost my core +100 which of course gives me 1302mhz . it still stays around the same temp it just ramps up to 43% fan or so which is barely audible over the case fans if at all and only in intensive games like bf3 and such. its completely quiet in swtor which is great cuz the 2 470's ran 80+ degrees in that and kicked the fans way up. Im exagerating a little bit they arent terribly loud , but definately way louder than the rest of the pc ,.

edit: 1302, NICE! ~ bjv

man i wish i could hit that . i think the rest of my computer holds me back in 3dmark , core i5-750 @ 4.2ghz (3.7 when im not benching) . however never do i hit 100% cpu usage in any game i play so im not ready to upgrade yet (well dont need to anyways) . i will say that core i5 has been a great investment , for the money i spent its still not obsolete yet.

I will be keeping my 3gb 580s. I run at 1600p and I can max basically everything. I would upgrade to Kepler but in order for it to be worth it I'd have to buy two and the locked voltage and limited memory bandwidth scares me with my resolution even though most tests say bandwidth isn't a huge issue.

Plus I run them undervolted (980) and OC'd to 820 and I think that's pretty swell. Not noisy or hot at all really.

Aaaight guys, all the Benchies are up for the OC'd 470's.

Lets see some 670 results with matching settings on actual game benches ... remember most of these are available as free benchmark apps or demos, so smoke 'em if ya got 'em!

I dig the high preset on 3dmark Vantage. You'd bump into a CPU bottleneck at P setings smile.gif
post #30 of 209
[/URL]I get 28735 with my rig at stock, sadly 3dmark Vantage free only lets me run the performance preset at 1280x1024 PPU off.

However, here is a Unigine Heaven 3 at your settings, still at the stock speeds (the FTW is slightly overclocked as stock 797 core clock)
