Seems like overclocking is really a hit or miss. My new 670 can do 1340 core (and possibly more) while my other one struggles to be stable at 1218Mhz.

Brett, I ran the Heaven benchmarks again at 1340 this time, and I got a fps of 52.4 (I cant remember the number in the decimal place).

So only about a 2 FPS difference between 1289 and 1340Mhz. Memory clocks were 3206/3306 respectively.

Great write up. I found everyones Heaven results very interesting so here is mine I did just now. Both 480's are at 840/1680/1850MHz and i7 930 is at 4GHz. Resolution always at 1920x1080.

338

Here is a Metro2033 run too just because I loved that game. If you look at my rig there is a 3d Mark 11 screenshot as well with these same settings.

338

Edit: I also made sure I used all the same settings you did to run these.

i'd been waiting for a thread like this to pop up.. makes me feel that much better about not having the means to get myself a new 670/680..

And some of you guys have beasts of 470's! Wish i could get mine game stable @800 or above (on air, so not gonna happen)
Thanks for all the benches guys! cheers.gif

Thread Starter
I've added two game benchs, but have to go to work now frown.gif

I'm going to be jonesing there.

Although it's not quite a match for the 470's in Stalker CoP, the difference is not enough to affect max playable settings. However, in Crysis 2, the 670 pulls out a tiny victory. I've not gamed yet but my impression so far watching benchies is ... they look to be running smoother, for sure.

So far I have to say:

I LOVE THIS CARD, BTW.

So fast, so quiet, such lower power consumption, looks awesome, OC's like a champ ... It's EPIC WIN in my book.

The only problem is ... it looks so LONELY in my case, all by itself. I feel bad for it tongue.gif

I'll try to do some more benchies tonight if the wife will excuse me.

do "the mod" and you can get well over 800 stable with very little noise. only reason i cant go higher is SLI in my little MATX case.

I have a 448 sli 3d11 run to add, baby clocks on the cards 810/1070 2600k 4.5
338

Around 13k gpu score when clocked up some more.
i use these over my h70 modded 680 most of the time since they run bf3 very well and thats all i play if i do.

the 560 ti sli takes a beating with the lesser ram when gaming + not great 3d11 either 10,5k gpu
1030/1100 5.0 2600k
480
I miss my 470 thuo it ran 900+when it was cold, and a pair still is pretty good today.
good luck with the new card anyways

Don't really have room for 2 120 rads unless i stacked em, and I can't see that being as efficient. If they weren't so hard to come by, i'd get some full cover blocks for my 470's and put my system under water, but sadly i waited too long to be able to find the blocks easily.

Wow! those are awesome results brettjv.
If Dimmy's boost clocks are accurate, I think the 680 is ~10% faster at the same clocks.
Thanks for the benches, and hope you enjoy your new card thumb.gif .
