Wireless Mouse Dying or...?

Thread Starter
I have a logitech M305 mouse with a K305, and I use both with a unifying receiver. Lately my mouse has been acting strange, as if the batteries are low. I changed them a few times, but it still acts up. Sometimes the mouse won't even move, and I have to move my mouse closed to the receiver or "jiggle" it around a bit and it comes back.

I would think if it was dying, the problem would be constant, not an occansional annoyance. I just ignored it for awhile until I noticed now my keyboard won't register keys for periods of up to 5-10 seconds, but then I just wait and it works fine again (I wrote this entire post and no problems).

How can I tell if the batteries are dying, if there is something interrupting the reception, or if I need to replace these entirely?

The mouse and keyboard are only about a year old. And together they cost maybe $60. I'd hate to spend 60 bucks every year...

My setup:

450

450

450

Often times I'll move the mouse from the keyboard tray to the top of the desk, and that'll seem to fix it, but then the problem will come back anyway...

Yeah I thought the same thing. There's a USB 3 hooked up to a ProBox with 3 hard drives, a USB hooked to a Fiio E17, and an HDMI. It seems like if I move the mouse to a different place on the desk, it starts to work better, but it doesnt actually matter if that place is closer or not to the USB. Also, I've noticed the distance at which the mouse stops working is really small. Like 2 feet.

I sometimes have the same issue with my Logitech Mouse. The issue I have seen is actually due to wireless interference. if my wife is doing lots of wifi traffic on her laptop (i.e. downloading or streaming" then my wifi mouse acts up.

Try seeing if you can change the channel your mouse is on.

Try seeing if you can change the channel your mouse is on.

How can I even go about that? Isn't it a specific channel for the USB receiver? It's not bluetooth.

You would have to check the support section / forums on the Logitech website for connection issues.

I know with my mouse it is a combination of holing the right mouse button and the power button underneath for so many seconds then it cycles through the channels till it finds a clear one.
