If you have WinXP 32 then adding more RAM is a waste as the operating system can't use it - thus 4 GB. HAS to be enough. wink.gif

In 64-bit O/S's that can use more RAM there can be minor gains going from 4 GB. to 8 GB. but there is nothing exciting to write home about. More RAM helps some applications like video editing, CAD, etc. or it allows you to have more apps open concurrently. wink.gif

The current price of RAM is good so if you plan on going to Win7 64-bit, then it would not hurt to jump on a RAM deal and save it for the O/S change.

Firsthand experience can be VERY valuable. Often it separates theory from reality - especially with DDR RAM. wink.gif
