EVGA 670 4gb OC or MSI 680 2gb

Thread Starter
I am looking at new video cards for my upcoming build and am torn between two cards at the moment.

EVGA 04G-P4-2673-KR
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2580892&sku=E145-0676

MSI N680GTX-PM2D2GD5
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2300806&sku=M452-0680

I am unable to find any reviews or benchmarks for the EVGA card to compare the two. So anyone that has bought or found anything on these your assistance would be greatly appriciated.

Depends on your monitor resolution as 2 gb should be fine if you are around 1920x1200 ,but if you are planning higher resolution than that then go for the 4 gb version.

Unless you have a monitor that is 2560x1440/2560x1600 or you are using an Eyefinity setup, there is no reason to get the 4GB card. Either save some money and get a 2GB GTX 670, or get the GTX 680 if you want the best.

Not to mention the only difference between the 670 and 680 is a locked SMX core... Now the question is, is it unlock-able, like you can unlock cores on a CPU ie 3x to 4x

i'd vote for the 2GB GTX 680 if you are going to be using a 1080p monitor. http://www.hwcompare.com/12501/geforce-gtx-670-vs-geforce-gtx-680/
i hope this link would help you out choose the right card, good luck with your purchase

It all depends on your monitor set up. What resolution will you be running stuff at?

That would be a nice link, except that is not the 670 I am looking at
