Never once a serious issue. With Nvidia, I'd always get locked in 2D clocks (on stable clocks mind you), I lost a GPU due to the driver that caused overheating in 2010, folding problems (why I quit bothering to fold on GPU's honestly....I can't update past 266.58 on any of my Nvidia cards)....
To me personally, AMD drivers have always been near perfect. The only complaint I have with them right now, is that GTA IV doesn't play smoothly regardless of the settings. That's one game out of hundreds that I own, so I'm not that bothered by it.
Nvidia on the other hand, its pretty sad that all my Nvidia cards are STILL stuck on 266.58 because anything newer causes crashing.

I agree completely, same case right here. i've had two nVidia computers, both have been nothing but trouble with the drivers, having constant crashes etc. plus my 6970s' , and my 5650 or whatever it is in the other desktop have never had an issue? maybe it's just old and overplayed by now?

Why would the 670 support 4 way, when the 680 only supports 3 way? doh.gif

Did you see this at all? How can nvidia have the top performance spot with only three video cards? You cant your wrong! And yet there it is for everyone to read, 4 Geforce GTX 680's.

Link is bad....

Were they using validated WHQL drivers?

NVIDIA never said that 4-SLI does not work... just that they have not validated a driver to support it for those cards.
Once again...

Well maybe you should turn your flash on, the link works for me.

Its mark3D. It should be WHQL approved drivers. As it has the number one spot for performance. I was commenting on pioneerisloud post.

Flash is on... might be my corporate firewall blocking ports.

3DMark allows non-WHQL drivers.

(Perhaps 3k world wide use quad sli anyways.., really not news)

I guess I'm one of those 3k then. More and more people are starting to adopt enthusiast platforms these days. The fact that the 670 doesnt support 4-way isn't a big deal, since it wont be breaking any records anyways, even if it COULD do 4 way SLI, since the 680 would automatically beat it out in the same situation (4 way SLI). Also, Tri-SLI is really all that is needed these days unless you're running 3 x 2560x1600 or similar setups.

Either way, my Quad SLI setup is quick, but the drivers are still lagging behind as far as scaling goes. Even Tri-SLI scaling is horrid. The 301.34 drivers helped me a bit but it still needs to be addressed, and given the fact that the 690 has been released and there will be more people using Quad SLI, perhaps Nvidia will take the initiative... we shall see.

For the price of the GTX 690 here in Australia $1599.00 You can get 3 GTX 670's for around 100 or more dollars less which will outperform the GTX 690. Why wouldn't you grab the 3 GTX 670's over a GTX 690.

Now when it comes to 4 way SLI;

GTX 690 $3198.00
GTX 680 $2800.00
GTX 670 $2000.00

In Tri-SLI the GTX 670 is roughly 3-5 FPS slower than the GTX 680 at 1920 x 1200 in BF3. You really need to get some massive resolutions to make the cards really step ahead.

But the price, personally I'd rather spend 2000 on 4 GTX 670's and use the spare 1000+ dollars on watercooling the cards which will reduce the amount of gain 2 GTX 690's have.

The GTX 670 is the card all us tight asses have been waiting for. thumb.gif

Yeah, 4x GTX 670s is around $1600, while getting yourself a GTX 690 is $1000.

Less money spent and better performance (?)

The box on my eVGA GTX670 SC actually says it supports 4-way SLi. If it doesn't, we could easily get eVGA on false advertising...which is not cool.
