external mount rads put a funny taste in my mouth. I guess its because I travel with my computers..thats why I will be moving over to a Prodigy biggrin.gif
Good luck on your build! The Vulcan is a great case and wish I could do another build with it, but its time to go smaller. thumb.gif

Hey audioholic,

Just have some questions about a build that I have in mind.

Right now I currently have an H80i mounted in the front (1 fan in-between the bezel and case) and was wondering what I could do to watercool my GPU. Currently I have a GTX 570 Twin frozr ii and I stuck my friends GTX 660ti in there as well to see how they fit and they are so tight together that I figured my only option for dual graphics would be to water cool them.

Here is what I have in mind right now:

* Keep the H80i for CPU since:
a) I just bought it lol
b) I think it does a perfectly fine job at cooling my CPU as I hit 4.4GHZ with an average of 50 C with the fans set to quiet setting
c) less custom parts to worry about

* Ditch the mesh screen and side panel and replace with a black acrylic window that will fit the whole side

Now here is where your expertise comes in to play:

Do you think I could get away with fitting a res. in the 5.25" bays and maybe mounting a radiator on the acrylic window itself?

I am thinking of maybe using hinges (like on a door) to mount the acrylic window to the front of the case and having the tubes kind of make a "C" to the radiator that way I can still swing open the window for easy maintenance.

As for keeping the acrylic "door" shut, I am thinking of using a 90 degree piece of metal and gluing it to the inside of the "door" and drilling holes in it so I can utilize thumb screws.

That's my idea for now and I would love to hear some feed back. Also, if you wouldn't mind, could you measure the size of the whole side panel as I don't even have measuring tape with me. Inches would be preferred.

Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you biggrin.gif

Are you wanting to go custom loop? I would say the best thing to consider would be going with a thin 30mm or 35mm radiator in front. Then you can drill out a hole for a 120mm rad like I did. The Vulcan has potential to be a good water cooled rig, but it depends on what you need in the case. For me if I were to do it over again I would look at something like the apogee drive in for my pump. Mount my reservoir on my front radiator, so loop would go res,pump/CPU block, GPU/GPUs and then into the bottom rad then to the front rad.
Now if you are wanting to stay with enclosed loops this is where it gets kind of challenging. I don't have my Vulcan here unfortunately to give you side panel measurements,
The idea about your side panel sounds cool, but my concern is airflow. The Vulcan is not a very good breather in my opinion. And from what I understand you are asking is you want to put a radiator on this side panel?
I would be cautious as room plays a huge part here. Once you start cramming things into the case it gets filled up really quickly. If you want to give it a shot go for it!
I took the easy route and only needed one SSD so I didn't have HHD to worry about or DVD or anything so I could have all the room for radiators. Due to my poor planning I could have just bought a thinner rad and everything would have fit with my 150mm res and a 240rad. It was just finding a spot for a pump.
