Disassociating a HDD in Windows 7

The story so far...

I recently entered into SSD's and RAID with the purchase of two OCZ Vertex 4's. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to install them yet due to additional hardware requirements. However, that time has allowed me to formulate an idea, but I am unsure its even possible. My current rig contains two WD 1T Blacks split into multiple logical drives. Physical C contains Windows 7 and Media (Music, Pictures, and Video) across two Logical drives plus an assortment of work based applications (Office, Adobe CS 4, amongst others). Physical D contains gaming and maintenance software with downloads and local backups and lastly the Windows Page file again across multiple logical drives. So that is a loose description of my storage make-up.

The idea, I'd like to turn the machine into a dual-boot gaming / work machine. The gaming side boots off of the Vertex 4's set in RAID 0 (I'm open to a different RAID configuration). The work side boots off of the existing Physical C which contains all work related applications. I believe this will work as a dual-boot system.

I do not want the Work install to see the Physical D drive. I want to completely separate the two functions of the PC. So here is the question. Can I setup Windows 7 to completely ignore a physical drive? If so, how can I accomplish this task?

I appreciate any and all advice this excellent community can offer.

It'll always see it to some degree - but after getting the SSDs and installing Windows onto them, you can go into Disk Management on whichever Windows install and remove the unused drive letters. Then go into the device manager and disable the unused drives for that particular install.

If you ever flip ports, the drives will probably redetect and you'll have to do it over again.
