i'm sad
even the old GTX 590 was not compatible, see http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/compatibility/gxm/
GXM System Compatibility

GPU model Maximum resolutions
Dual Modes Triple Modes
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 3840x1200
(2x 1920x1200)1 4320x900

5760x1080
(3x 1920x1080)2,3
1 This graphics hardware can support two TripleHead2Go Digital Edition products, as long as your graphics hardware has two available dual-link DVI outputs.
2 This graphics hardware can support two TripleHead2Go Digital Edition products, as long as your graphics hardware has two available dual-link DVI outputs. Note that your graphics hardware must have at least 1GB of dedicated memory to support modes above 4320x900 (3x 1440x900) with two TripleHead2Go Digital Edition units connected.
3 Note that the 5760x1080 (3x 1920x1080) mode runs at 50Hz which may be incompatible with some displays. Verify with your display vendor for compatibility.
The "maximum resolution" is defined as the single monitor resolution multiplied by the number of monitors used in a DualHead (two monitor) or TripleHead (three monitor) mode. For example, with DualHead2Go, 2560x1024 is the total resolution across two monitors, each monitor running at 1280x1024 resolution.

it can do 1080p but only at 50 Hz, which means the screen is going to look like a sideshow, it'll kill my eyes
heck even at 60 hz annoys the hell out of me, i usually set my monitors at 75 Hz
just when i finally made the plunge and let the darkside persuade me, and ordered two GTX 690 from ASUS

i was about to place the order for the matrox triple head, when i found that
