Dell u2312HM - Manufacturing defect or normal?

Hi guys, sorry for creating a similar thread previously but I really need a opinion on this. Basicly, I received my dell u2312HM monitor last Friday. I was blown away at how great the colours are and overall its a great monitor. However one thing is bugging me and I don't know if its a manufacturing default or not. Basicly, on light colours (white, light green, blue, yellow, etc) seem to be incredibly grainy. It kind of looks like there is grease on the screen.

I am coming from a much cheaper (matte, CCFL backlit) acer monitor and while the colours were a bit washed out and the black levels weren't the best, the whites/light colours were miles ahead redface.gif I was looking up reviews for the dell monitor I am on atm and most of them are 5 stars with only a few mentioning the anti glare and saying its not much of a big deal.

So that leads me to this question, did I receive a faulty monitor with the anti glare coating applied wrong? I will try and post a picture but It probably won't come out well and I can't really judge for myself (since I am viewing the picture on the same monitor)

Thanks for your help!

looks like it's just the AG coating, the AG coating on IPS's is horribly strong.

ALL matte IPS panels use the same anti-glare coating which causes the excessive grain on whites+light colours except for the AOC i2353ph (TFT Central) and Fujitsu P23T-6 (according to Tup3x from [H]ard Forum), it is not a manufacturing defect.

Just a quick follow up, after some time using the monitor, i have gotten completely used to it and I don't really notice it anymore (I do notice it if I am deliberately looking for it ) Thanks for the responses.
