I'm just gonna say that isn't going to happen. 5.0 GHz will always be the limit of air.

A little off-topic here but there is no technical reason to believe that 5.0 GHz. is some magic thermal limit for air-cooled CPUs. With ever increasing technology gains in reduced power consumption (see Trinity laptop), CPU clockspeeds can increase and remain within a self-imposed 125w envelope which is easily cooled with a HSF. Many folks are running FX CPUs @ 4.4 GHz. on air and FX/BD when OC'd to this frequency uses a lot more than 125w of power.

Turbo CPU technology will allow even higher default CPU clockspeeds with Turbo boost as necessary for short duration - just as used in autos these days.

No, just no... frequency isn't all there is to heat, what if you had a processor that ran at 5ghz, on 32nm tech at 1.3v? I would go ahead and wager, that piledriver with the refined 32nm process and resonant clock mesh that 5ghz overclocks or higher on air will be seen.

That's about what we were expecting. Shipping in late Q3 with retail availability in early Q4. Nearly 5 months away though. Gonna be tough waiting that out.
lets see 15% more than a 960t at 4.0 and 4.2 turbo. Going to 6.0 and 6.3? or are we talking 15% more 3.0/3.3? It good enough for a 7870, but I kinda would like 2 of them and not be conserned about it getting close to bottle necking. Lets see new CPU and another AMD HD 7870. OR.....Screw it, I tired of waiting, just get an Intel mobo and CPU. How can you make good gaming GPUs and make Marginal CPUs to run them?
