bad xbox connection

Thread Starter
I got an xbox 360 (haters leave now) but the network connection sucks. (moderate NAT type) Running a network test proves nothing usefull except that something is wrong. I blame our network provider (fright frouse) but my dad blames our modem. Are we right? (rep to anybody that seriously responds to the question) (duh thats what you get rep for)

What exactly is the problem? Is the connection simply slow or is their a failure to connect?

If it's the router then I would open up the ports as per suggested by Microsoft. It's how mine is set up and it works very well. Doing this is a lot easier if you give the XBox a static IP.

It's really slow. For example, on MW3, I'll die but the kill cam freezes up until the very end.

Put your Xbox in the DMZ in the router configuration.

Open NAT would be the best thing to start with and that will achieve it in one step.
