What to lay motherboard on as test bench

Is it safe to lay motherboard on this stuff? Conductive foam..

or should I just put it on a antistatic bag? I'm looking to reduce vibration with that foam that came in my motherboard box instead of just putting it on a table with antistatic bag.

Put some cardboard on top of the foam. Try to elevate the MB at least 1/4 - 3/8" for air circulation, if possible. The anti-static bag is not useful other than to protect the MB during shipping, meaning don't lay the MB on top thumb.gif

I could try that, sandwiching foam in between two things of cardboard might work nicely.

I currently keep my htpc on cardboard with some extra standoffs screwed on and it works great; ( still waiting for my ase to get in stock )

And it's as quiet as can be, can't hear a thing unless you put your ear on the fan ( literally ).

I've had mine running on top of a laptop ( so basically a piece of plastic) for months straight now

FYI - the anti-static bag is only anti-static on the INSIDE. Many people do not know this. Some use the cardboard box the mobo came in.

Can't I just turn the bag inside out?
