ram chip cleaning tips for NV/AMD card

Thread Starter
I always receive FAQ about the ramsink fallout problem when they are trying to install the aftermarket cooler.
So, I make this tips for anyone who want to replace their stock cooler to any aftermarket cooler

The thermal pad surface from the stock cooler has a coated a thermal conductive oil, this oil also trapped inside the grooved surface of the memory. It is not possible to clean it completely by tissue or alcohol, if you didn't clean it completely, the thermal pad of your ramsink is not possible to stick on the memory stably.

I had put this tips into ICY installation Manual but according to my experience from my support email, nearly no one will read the manual when they are trying to install the cooler.

So, I post this tips with picture on here to show how to clean the memory chip.

1. use your rubber eraser to clean the chip surface,no need to apply to much pressure
2. As shown on below picture, you can see those words and marks clearly on cleaned memory chip surface.
3. stick the ramsink on the memory chip and hold it about 15s with little pressure.
4. done and next~
