So I'm having a bit of weird trouble with my SSD again. I've put my Crucial M4 on the Intel 3Gbps Port, and I followed Sean's install guide. In the BIOS (Asus P6X58D-E), I turned off the Marvell 9128 controller, and set Storage to AHCI. Install went smoothly.

Then, I plug in both of my Samsung Spinpoints (that were in RAID before the reinstall, but I hadn't decided on whether I was going to keep them in Raid or not.), and bam. BIOS suddenly says IDE mode now, the 9128 controller is turned back in (even though nothing is plugged into it). I switch it back into AHCI mode, and it boots fine, but I really don't know how to make "sure" my computer is in AHCI mode. Oh, also, ACPI 2.0 went from Enabled to Disabled somewhere during the Windows Installation.

I have both ATTO and AS running, but I'm not really sure how to make sure things are running correctly. I'm on my Netbook at the moment, without the ability to post screenshots, but it goes as follows:

ATTO:
.5 -> 8192.0 KB Transfer
Write: 38400 -> 192657
Read: 16700 -> 284359

AS:
iaStor - OK
1024k - OK
Seq: 267 / 183
4k: 25 / 66
4k-64Thrd - 185 / 147
Acc.time - .07 / .19
Score: 238 / 232
597

My main worry is that I'm not in AHCI mode at the moment. The reads look "ok." I assume the theoretical max on the chip would be 384 MB/s (3 Gbps), and that of course you won't reach that limit. Also, I see that my align is currently 1024k, I'll change that to 4098 soon.

Thanks for any assistance.

Edit: I just happened to hover over "iaStore - OK" and found it to say that I had ICH10R Intel SATA AHCI Controller. I assume this to mean I'm in AHCI mode and that the Intel Rapid Storage Tech Driver I installed is working properly?
