For $400, with an actual warranty and DVI/VGA/HDMI inputs, it's not a bad deal.

I can't tell from that link that they are Korean monitors... I did a search on gmarket and danawa.co.kr for EQD brand and hair dryers only show up.

if you go to where to buy on that site NewEgg shows up, but on newegg there isn't any products by EQD being sold yet, wonder if a deal is still being finished. Maybe this could be the toe hold for getting these monitors competitively priced here in the states.

It says it has VGA, DVI and HDMI, then it states to achieve the ful 2560x1440, you need to use display port on both ends?

Looks iffy to me.

Or a bunch of resellers will get in on this, and they will quickly be driven down do the ~$330 area. Similar to what happened with the imports.

(Imports went from like $330 to $250.. Not including shipping)

i would call and ask for details on it but im at work, also my post was removed about it being a 10 bit color monitor - something tells me this monitor is quality.

also ya it doesn't say its an ips but look at the viewing angles.

Listings and descriptions are often wrong.

But it does say "178° horizontal / 178° vertical viewing angles", which never gets quoted for TN panels. It's probably IPS. Is anyone brazen enough to advertise a *VA panel as having 6.5 ms response time?

I am sure that's just terrible wording.
Also, I've never heard of a TN panel thats this resolution. It's most likely IPS.

There is no TN panel that is 2560x1440, so unless they are lying about the advertised resolution, it must be an IPS panel.

The thing I'm wondering is if it is a true 10bit monitor at 1.07 billion colors. Because the only one I know is the NEC PA271W IPS (8-bit native, 10-bit with A-FRC) from a review that I read from another tech site...

It shows 0 in stock at the Microcenter in my area so I can't go check it out...

I have had a Gateway XHD 3000 for a while now. I recently started looking up the 2 Korean High Res Low price Displays.. Very interesting bunch of experiences.. Lots of them. Leave me a little confused as to the terminology you used.

Bold - Marks source of product
Unterline - Action/ Verb on the prices from the Source

Are the two sources marked in bold different? Do clarify please

I don;t know if you're trolling me or not.. but I was making the distinction between:

Products imported by an american company and then sold to american retail stores like newegg or microcenter.
Products that are imported by you. You buy the item off a seller in Korea over ebay and are shipped directly to you from korea. (I dubbed "imports.")

Well there's no TN panels at that resolution, Same with VA.

Purchased one, asked the moron where the display cables were and he told me that the website disclaimer was wrong and all i needed was dvi. So I now have a GORGEOUS 1920x1600 monitor that I can't switch to 2500x1920 till I purchase a cable tomorrow. Took some unboxing pics. It's such an upgrade from my 17" monitor.

There are 5 in stock at the Fairfax, VA store. Not sure if that's too far for you or not, but if you're willing to make the drive you can check one out there. I actually work at the MD store so I can try to keep track on if we get any in soon and let you know. With any luck we'll get some in Friday (get shipments Tuesdays and Fridays). I was looking at ordering one of the Korean panels off ebay but if I can pick one up locally I'd rather do that, even at a cost premium. Much easier to do with potential issues that way.
