I used the Spyder4Elite (part of the Spyder4STUDIO package) to create the calibration settings & profiles I've posted in this thread. The Spyder4 is more current than the Colormunki, but only supports ICM profiles I believe (so may be limited for printer calibration in some advanced situations).

Either way it works great and the Elite version has the advantage of an unlimited number of activations, so you can run it on all of your friends' PCs and calibrate their monitors too.

Going to Micro Center tomorrow to take the defective one back and get a new one. I figure it's best to have it tested there to make sure it works.

Based on the recommendations in this thread, I went to the Microcenter in Villanova and pulled the trigger. Brought it home and hooked it up using the DVI cable that came in the box and all I can say is 'wow'. This thing is beautiful. No dead or stuck pixels that I can see. My first time gaming or working on a 2560x1440 monitor and what a difference. So much real estate and everything just looks crisp. Played some BF3, Far Cry 3, and Witcher 2 tonight. They all look amazing. Im not maxing the settings out like I was with my 580 in 1080p but I'm playing on high/very high settings and the clarity of the games in this resolution is amazing. The picture below is crap and doesn't do it justice. I didn't notice any input lag in BF3. Far Cry 3 was lagging a bit but once I lowered the graphics settings a notch it ran perfectly. So far I have nothing negative to say about this monitor, if I HAD to pick something the blacks could be a little blacker. A black screen in a dim room shows a little bit of edge lighting. All in all I am thrilled with my purchase. I'll try and post some better pics with a real camera this weekend (i'll even take the plastic film off the bezel). thumb.gif

OMG...

Got it and it's AMAZING. We have it up next to my Dad's HP 2511x and does it put it to shame!

so whats the best color profile that u came up with Pablo? Or anyone else for this matter. I dont have any calibration tools(should really get one with having 9 panels in the house) and going by eye - i suck, really really suck. Using the very first profile i found from Pablo but everything looks very pink:(

Also if anyone has precise instructions how to OC this monitor i will try it and post results here. From what i gathered they can be OCed to 75Hz, but really depends on the batch - perhaps some can go even higher (Catleap 2b extreme can do 130Hz but we run into bandwidth limit on DVI dual link with 32bit color)

Also did anyone find the drivers for this monitor? Cant stand looking at "generic pnp" next to AUria but all the other panels i got have their names instead.

Does this monitor have the same return policy as those koreans where you need to have like 5+ dead pixels or is just 1 enough for a replacement?

Microcenter does a 30 day no questions asked return policy. Just need to hold on to your original packaging.

I'm assuming this applies as well if I order it on their online site right?

I'm going to say "yes' but you'd need to read the terms and conditions on their site. I know they advertise it on their website, but I only deal with them in store or ordering with store pick up.
