Microcenter now carrying the 27" 2560x1440 Korean IPS monitors - Page 60

I picked one up on Sunday. No complaints from me. I'm tempted to do the AG removal surgery but only if I can find a new protective cover to put in place that is glossy. i have not had any luck finding one so matte finish it is until I can find one.

Hello Auria club smile.gif

I was planning on going to Micro Center last week to see if they had any of the glossy, top-handle boxes available. Checked online and they were sold out! Now they have stock back in, but I'm assuming it's going to be the ones with the AG coating.

My question is this: how aggressive is the AG coating on these? I can deal with a little bit, but not sure if I want heavy AG. If it was similar to the Dell U2713HM panels, I could deal with that! Those are supposedly lighter.

Looks iffy to me.
Also, no where does it state it is an IPS panel.

You will enjoy the high quality resolution on the 27" IPS LED Monitor. The fast response time will reduce blur. You have a VGA, DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI inputs on your new monitor. IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology allows for better viewing angles and increased low-quality color reproduction. To achieve the maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440, a DisplayPort or DVI port must be used on both ends.

I'm almost positive it is the U2713HM panel.

I scoped out the U2713HM while i was in microcenter, then used my Auria when i got home. After the calibration settings provided to me in this thread it looked better and clearer than the U2713HM.

Note i bought it on friday so it is still very fresh in my memory. Considering i drove 5 hours total to get it too i took my dandy time lol.

Edit: If you wanted you might be able to make a case to the manager for the Shelf display as they would want to display the matte version now as that is what they are selling.

I haven't seen the new U2713s in person (my MicroCenter doesn't carry them) but as I mentioned in my earlier post, my Auria's AG is lighter than my U2711's.

I'd guess these probably do share a panel with the new Dells, however it's advertised as having "10-bit" color depth (8-bit +FRC) which only the U2711 and U2713H support. thinking.gif

AG coating is very similar to the U2410's I have at work. I would directly compare the Auria to the U2713HM's in terms of inputs and AG coating on a 1440p panel.

I cannot decide if i want to get this monitor or the 144hz asus one. I play world of warcraft and watch youtube videos, thats pretty much it.

I have heard IPS is not for gaming, so i figured id ask here first.
