I haven't seen any review guaranteeing even if Turbo is used. They tell you the freq and turbo freq and the beginning, and what it scored in the test. They do not tell you the freq in use during the test. For CPU/GPU tests, this is extra important since Trinity may have chosen to give the GPU the extra power, or the CPU.

and judging by the wau turbo works for phenom II x6 and FX it doesn't stay on long enough to work well.

Tom's did a test showing FX's turbo worked fine, only the Phenom II x6's was borky. I can't find the article right now, but I did find something that at least shows FX's works:

This is the point (although the winner is really determined by what you primarily want from it - productivity or gaming)
It's the real crux of the argument for me - A10 vs. $600 Intel Ivy offering, so hopefully an i3 (an i5 is a pipe dream, I'm sure!)

Agreed (except for the UK, so ~£450). My argument falls apart this doesn't exist, lol

For people who want to see a texture filtering quality comparison between Trinity, ivy bridge and Sandy bridge check this
http://techreport.com/articles.x/22932/9

Trinity screenshot

Ivy bridge

Sandy bridge

I don't seen any difference between ivy bridge and Trinity screenshots. Only SB quality looks bad
post #207 of 361
The colours are washed out on IB, compared to Trinity IMO.

One would have to be blind not to see the difference between IB and Trinity in the Anisotropic filtering circle. IB might be good enough at 600x300 is all those images show - put up a 1366x768 screenshot of each. Might all look similar, but then again - 2x vs. 4x AA looks the exact same to some people, and if you tested a 7970 at 2x AA vs a 680 at 4x AA.. 7970 would blow out the 680. So it's cheating to use lower IQ, don't care if you disagree, this is just the general consensus on OCN.

I think Trinity produces more vibrant colors on that screenshot.
The differences between Trinity and IB are there, but you have look for them. SB is quite bad, though.

The trinity shot looks darker because it is higher on your screen.
Look at the pictures side by side instead of one on top of the other.

What I see:
Trinity has slightly sharper textures, and what appear to be beveled edges that blend smoothly.
Ivy Bridge has slightly darker shadows, and geometry edges appear flat and don't all fit cleanly together(some white clipping on the highest edge).

The edge difference probably has something to do with AA quality.
