Thinking of buying Diablo 3 but have a few questions

Thread Starter
1) How much time does it require?

2) Does it have anything like a rest system?

3) Can I advance if only playing for about a hour at a time?

I ask these questions because while I do want to play this game I am busy. WoW was prefect for me up until the end game when the time required to advance went up way too high and I had to wane myself off of it. Same with Dungeon Defenders.

Should I pass on this one? Or is it casual gamer friendly? And buy casual I don't mean easy. I love a challenge. I just don't have x amount of time to go through something. I don't mind spending the time required to master levels and learn how to handle new challenges. I do mind the boring and long grind the repeat them after said challenge has been complete.

It's like survival mode on DD. The good gear doesn't drop until you reach wave 18. But by that point I find I have already been playing too long.

1) How much time does it require? As much as you want to put into it, the game will probably become really fun and you will want to put time into upgrading your gear/character.

2) Does it have anything like a rest system?
Yeah, you can reset you skilltree, unlike in diablo 2 previous patches.

3) Can I advance if only playing for about a hour at a time? Yes.

Also let me say the last game lasted over 12 years, and people still play it today. So this game will be around for a long time, and if you think you might get into it later, you might as well start now because the game is amazing.

1. All of it
2. Not that I know of.
3. Yes

You could slowly get through it like that, but it would take a long time. Also, its really meant to be played with a group.

Yeah, you can reset you skilltree, unlike in diablo 2 previous patches.

FYI, there is no skill tree or stats in the game, you can switch between skills anytime you want. So technically, no reset because it's not needed. tongue.gif

I'm going to wait to see if I can snag a guest pass. I have no idea if I'll actually like it.

A big thanks to all of those who helped me out. I know it will take me awhile. And I'd like to play in groups but I still have to keep my playing time down to shorter intervals.

Anyone by chance have a spare guest pass? I'm on the same boat as the OP, lots of talk but not convinced to buy a copy yet.

I watched a few streams of the game. Either the people I was watching were experts on the first night or the game is really easy. They were wrecking through everything and the game had only been out for about 8 hours.
