pci-e 3.0

post #1 of 3
Thread Starter
I recently ordered a gtx 670 and it hit me......its pci-e 3.0 supported. My mobo (msi 770 g45) is only 2.0. So I have 3 questions:

1. How will this affect my game performace?
2. Should I buy a mobo with 3.0?
3. Whats a decent and reasonably priced amd3 mobo?

Thx

From the benches that I have seen ... and if my memory serves me correctly ... ... There is a very tiny difference between PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 ...

Previous Gen (2.0) GPU's couldn't fully saturate the 16x slots ...

:: EDIT ::

AM3 or AM3+ ... ... I am not really clued up with AMD that is why I ask before recommending a product

1. It Will not affect your game performance , very few cards can fully even saturate the entire PCI Express 2.0 Bandwidth.

2. The Whole New Mobo thing is all up to you if it requires you to replace CPU and RAM , then i would say don't bother right now , either way If it isn't broken no need to fix it for Mobos and a couple other things is good philosophy.
